Eden Hazard has sent a clear message to Chelsea regarding his contract with the reigning Premier League Champions.
The Belgian international has insisted that he is “waiting” to sign a new contract at Chelsea and he has not been offered a new contract.
Hazard was signed from Lille in the summer of 2012 and ever since then, he has established himself as one of the finest attackers in the Premier League.
The attacker was instrumental for the Blues last season as he championed Chelsea to the second League title in three years under Antonio Conte’s debut season.
The 26-year-old has regularly been touted as a possible target for Real Madrid in recent years but the attacker appears to be fully committed at Chelsea.
Speaking at a news conference on Wednesday while on international duty with Belgium, Hazard said: “At the moment there’s nothing. I’m waiting.”
Hazard will be hoping to make his return from an ankle injury for Chelsea as soon as possible.
The Belgian playmaker has not featured for the west London club so far this season after undergoing surgery at the start of the summer.
Chelsea beat Everton 2-0 in Hazard’s absence on Sunday afternoon at Stamford Bridge.
